What is an imported custom localization?
- You can recognize the imported localization of products by the IMPORT icon - the localized part of the text is imported from your source (in the given language).
- We recommend importing your own translations only once before translation in LOCO. If this procedure is not followed, translations in progress may be overwritten.
- Imported localization is added to products only when the localized text differs from the source text of the product.
Custom translation import types
Import of custom translations through e-shop platforms (Shoptet, Upgates, WPJ,...)
When creating an export connection by installing an Add-on or Plugin, custom translations are imported by default.
Import custom translations using XML
Your localized products can be imported into LOCO → Using an XML feed.
- In Connections, create a new import connection and import a feed with products in a foreign language. The products are imported and linked to products in the original language according to the product ID, at the same time they are marked as "Localized".
Import custom translations through LOCO API
Using the LOCO API you can import your own localisations to products.
Create an import connection for each language in which you want to import a custom localization.
- Create for each language a custom import connection above which triggers the API function “Update product” where you use the product_id that you get from the source language import connection.
