<aside> 💡 Using the "Custom dictionary" function allows you to achieve more accurate and consistent localizations according to your needs.

The "Custom dictionary" feature allows you to import localizations of specific words or phrases using a CSV file. Localizations entered in this way are then automatically used when localizing the product.

How to use a custom dictionary entry during localization

Localized text is submitted for localization phrase by phrase. At the moment of detection of the occurrence of an item from your own dictionary, this part of the text in the phrase is marked and at the moment of the return of the phrase from the localization, this localized text is replaced according to the item from your dictionary.

The situation can be imagined in the sample preview below, where you need to have a specific localization for the text “Stromboli-volcano effect”. You put this item in "Custom dictionary".

Inserting Custom Dictionary

  1. In the "Settings / Custom dictionary" overview from the application's main menu.
  2. In the upper right corner, click "Add to dictionary".
  3. After the import is complete, your predefined localizations will appear in the dictionary list.
  4. Now, when you localize the text, the application will automatically use the localizations you entered.

<aside> ⚠️ The custom dictionary is overwritten when the product is localized for the first time. If you want to use the dictionary for a product that is already localized, you first need to remove the localization of the product and then have it localized again. Words/phrases from the dictionary are rewritten during the new localization.

Inserting a word into the dictionary separately

Via the "Add to dictionary" button, words can be entered separately.
